Visitors are welcome at open matches and competitions.

CGC is a private club, but several of our matches are open to the public, and our monthly sporting clays shoot has been the most visible of them for decades. Non-members may also use the ranges as the guest of a current member.

Monthly Sporting Clays Shoot

Sporting Clays at Cherokee Gun Club runs every second Saturday of the month and is open to the public. This is one of the ways the club earns revenue to maintain and enhance the discipline, and we welcome new shooters of every skill level.

Before you arrive

What to bring

Firearm & ammo

Your shotgun. More than 100 shells (you'll likely shoot 100 but bad targets happen). Shells must be 1 1/8 oz max with 7.5 shot or smaller.

Registration

Cash or check at sign-in between 8:00 and 8:45 AM. No advance registration required for the public shoot.

Eye & ear protection

Required at all times on the range. Bring your own; we don't loan.

Critical safety policy

Cherokee Gun Club is a Cold Range

If you bring a firearm to the range to shoot in a match, it needs to be unloaded before you enter the property . Not in your car, not in your trunk, not in a safe area on site. Please do not unload firearms at our gate; handle this before you get near our property.
